The "Little Squirts Series"
began in 1981.
I was doodling as I talked on the phone. The
first character, Bizby, was created from the
letter B and is "busy as a bee". The next
character was a female version named
Slipper, because she likes to slip and slide.
Since that time I have written and illustrated
seventeen books with over forty characters.
Patty and I have been married for 25
years and enjoy bringing the Little Squirts to
elementary schools in our area. So far we
have taught over 15,000 kids how to draw
the characters. We were able give away
10,000 books to the kids in Indio, California,
sponsored by the City of Indio and 3,000
books to the kids in Desert Hot Springs,
California through the Desert Hot Springs
Boys and Girls Club.
Patty recently finished her eighth year
working daily with the kids at the Boys and
Girls Club and Middle School making sure
they get their homework done; a very
difficult job in today's environment but very
rewarding.
I am also a professional musician, singer
and songwriter. I play eleven instruments
and have my own recording studio and CD
production company.
