George sat down and thought about how reading had made his life better.
He started to make a list of all the things he was going to miss reading.
Bizby helped. The list was almost endless.
This is part of George’s list. Can you think of some of your own?
1. Grocery labels: You wouldn’t know what was for dinner.
2. Street signs and addresses: You might get lost.
3. Clocks: You might be late for school.
4. TV remote control: You might miss your favorite cartoon.
5. Money: How would you know how much to give the cashier?
It would be a strange world if we couldn’t read

“If I couldn’t read and write, I would really be lost,” thought George.
“Besides books are so much fun.”
“Wake up you sleepyhead!” Bruno laughed as George almost fell out of
bed. “The library opens in half an hour and you haven’t even brushed your
teeth!”
“I’m so glad that was only a dream,” thought George who had a new
appreciation for reading.
